WHERE DO I START? Some of my earliest memories were the sounds of my father and his friends playing guitar. I got my first guitar and began learning to play at the age of six years old. When I heard my first electric guitar I was awestruck. I knew deep inside this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Since the age of twenty five I have been on a personal quest for the guitar tone I can hear in my head. My search led me through countless pieces of equipment and guitar gadgets, eventually bringing me to the point I find myself at right now. These days my search for tone is not only for myself but for others.I AM A MUSICIAN but when I walk into my shop I become a builder with an advantage. I have over twenty five years of playing experience to pull from. My first cabinet design came from a desire to have a cabinet that would cast the sound in a wider pattern allowing the guitarist to move around and not have dead spot where he could not hear his guitar. I remembered old Gibson & Airline amplifiers that some of the players would bring out to my fathers jams and how big they sounded. This was the basis of my V Front cabinet design. Of course with todays monitoring systems this is not as important for big venues but for the working guitarist making his living playing smaller venues it is a nice tool. I CAME IN CONTACT with the art of woodworking at about the same age as I came in contact with guitars. My Grandfather was a master cabinet builder who was highly sought after for his hand crafted cabinets. By the age of ten I was his number one helper on weekends when I could get the green light to spend the weekend with him. One thing I always noticed about him was his ability to build just about anything anyone could imagine. People would bring him photos from magazines and he could build duplicates. No doubt he passed this creative gift on to me as I have built too many custom cabinet over the past ten years to recall. I learned most of my skills from him and learned the craft of wood working using mostly hand tools. I could cut dovetails with a hand saw and chisel at the age of twelve. I still can, but I am thankful for routers and jigs that make the job a whole lot easier. I AM A BUILDER that knows what to look for in wood, electronics and instrumentation. Every cabinet I build and every pedal I produce comes from my desire to create a tool that working musicians can use night after night with the same results. It is all about the final product which is tone. Over the past ten years I have built over eight hundred and fifty (850) cabinets. Additionally, over the past four years I have built over five hundred (500) pedals, that currently include my Overdrive - Clean Boost - Compressor - Reverb and Multi Distortion. I will continue to design and develop products as the search continues.Sincerely,Bob Burt
