Straight Front Series

The Straight Front Series Cabinets are the most common cabinets on the market today. The use of solid wood, various porting configurations and innovative baffle designs make my cabinets very versatile. The sound of the cabinet can be manipulated when these designs are applied in certain ways. Each one has a unique effect on the sound and is subject to the taste of the player.

For instance, the front ported baffle used with a closed back will generally make the cabinet sound very loud and directional. The ported baffle actually works on the basic theory of a detuned cabinet, making the cabinet sound very big but very directional as all of the sound comes from the front of the cabinet.

On the other hand, if a solid baffle is used with the ported back panel, you will get a big warm sound. It will be much more open and less directional. The brightness of the sound will still be there but the low and mid tones will roll out the back and fill the room with a warm full sound.

Baffle design and placement is very important to the sound of a cabinet. I build a special baffle designed for the straight front cabinets. It is the tilted baffle. It angles the speaker in an upward direction so the sound is projected toward your ears rather than your knees. The front of the cabinet looks like a regular flat face cabinet. This option can be included for a slight up charge.

These cabinets are offered in the following configurations.
1 x 12” - 2 x 10” - 2 x 12” and 4 x 12”
