As you can see, I have been working on another facet of guitar tone over the last few months. I have always used an OD pedal to some degree yet there were always a few small things that detracted from the overall tonality and function of my favorite OD pedal. After owning various high end OD's over the years I found myself back at square one so to speak. I began thinking about how I approached my design ideas for cabinets and thought, why not use the same approach with the overdrive? So, several months ago I began educating myself and working on a layout and design. After several prototypes, tweeks and changes, I have an overdrive that functions how I want an overdrive to function. It maintains clarity and the tone of the guitar while accentuating the lows and lowering the mids. Maybe it is something that would work for you?
